2016 YEAR OUT, YEAR IN REVIEW

As we wind down 2016, ALL OF US here would like to thank everybody for their support over the year.  We had an awesome run, met some really amazing people, and grown and learned so much.  We started the year off playing monthly brunches at our neighbourhood spot, The Old Nick, with our bi-monthly evening shows continuing at Harlem Restaurant. We got to perform with our full Quintet & Miss Dior at a few festivals as well, like the Mount Pleasant Harvest Festival, The Mirvish Village Street Festival, and the Evergreen Brickworks Etsy Market.  There were a bunch of private parties that were really wonderful events, and were so much fun.  We played a 50th Anniversary at the super exclusive men's-only Athletic Club, The Cambridge Club; Several Weddings, one of which was a Prohibition-era themed shindig that took place in a huge, red, Milton barn; A hand full of Christmas Parties like the Italian Chambers of Commerce of Ontario's (ICCO) delicious Christmas party at the Vaughan City Hall; We had the honour of headlining Canada Day Celebrations at Victoria Park, Niagara Falls, performing for thousands of people, on a huge stage, set beside the majestic Falls.  And Finally, we started recording the last couple of months on our EP, which will be released in the 2017 Year (more details to come).  Special shout-out to our drummer Kenneth Wong for letting us record "live off the living room floor" in your home, and for all you hard work editing.

Every year we are getting better, wiser, stronger.  And we are so thankful to all the restaurant owners, bookers, event planners, party hosts, venues, venue staff, organizations, individuals, constructive criticizers, chefs, drivers, fellow musicians, friends, family and fans.  You are forever etched in our story, and we are so grateful, and appreciative of all you have done for or with us.

This New Year our resolution is to be more unapologetic when it comes to our music. We're raw, and authentic, and we come from less than perfect circumstances in life.  But we have all overcome, and we're not afraid to tell OUR stories through our music, through our improvisations, through our voices.

The Motto for 2017:  WE MAKE REAL F$@#ING MUSIC.

Happy New Year to all of you.  Be Safe.

Warm Regards,

The Sean Stanley Quintet & Miss Dior
